About Us


Royal Life Saving ACT works to promote the importance and accessibility of water safety education for all. We develop, implement and evaluate drowning prevention strategies throughout the ACT. With  your help, we believe 'Everyone Can Be A Lifesaver'.

ACT Programs


The Royal Life Saving Society's national iconic programs are available right here in Canberra. Other unique Territory-based programs include


  • Aquasafe - an ACT Government initiative for Year 2 public primary school students

  • ACT Primary Schools' Swim and Survive program - providing primary aged students with vital water safety and survival lessons

  • Ngadyung - funded weekend program for indigenous children in the ACT

  • Swim 4 Life - free holiday program for children at risk of missing out

  • Respect the River - holiday river awareness program for ages 4 - 16

  • Grey Medallion - aquatic exercise and safety course for older Canberrans
